Imagine being 17 years old and applying for your first job. Now, add in a history of exploitation and a young son to care for and the process becomes much more intimidating.
“Jane” is in case management with Gracehaven. She says that having a son to care for has motivated her to create a better future for her and him. She’s committed to working hard and being a positive example. The first step was to get a job – a new experience for her. Her Case Manager worked with her through the entire process — they practiced interviewing skills, researched different jobs, filled out applications and even picked out an interview outfit together.
After a few interviews Jane was offered a job. Taking this scary step has boosted her self-confidence and helped her feel more capable and independent — and helped her move toward stability and growth for her family. Her case manager says, “I am so proud of the progress she has made and am excited to see how her hard work will pay off.”
That’s what case management involves – coming alongside clients and working with them in tangible ways to help them reach their goals. Thank you for allowing us to work with clients like Jane and support them through their healing journeys!
